Appetite Stimulants

Interest in fish as an alternative food source has grown over the last ten years, with their high selenium and omega 3 content giving them an important role in preventing certain diseases. Intensive fish farming also has a lower environmental impact than intensive farming of other animals.

Feed has been designed round the nutritional needs of the various species but raw materials of plant origin make up a greater percentage of fodders at the expense of animal derivatives (fish oils and flours) which inevitably makes them less appetising.

Adding appetite stimulants offsets this, as supplementing foods with aromas can redirect their flavours and aromas towards those characteristic of these animals thereby fostering food intake and good growth levels.
